Hi.
I'm Jeff Wolkove, and I'd like to welcome you to my new virtual art gallery.
Let
me tell you a little about myself, and the type of photography you’ll find
here.
I've
had a camera in my hands since I bought a “Snappy" camera from an ad on
the back of a comic book before I was 10 years old. Today’s powerful digital cameras, software and
affordable printers give me access to capabilities I couldn't even dream of a
few years ago.
I express my artistic side through photography. It’s a way to record special moments, and
recall the experience of becoming part of a landscape, follow history’s
footsteps, or meet local people and wildlife.
On a typical weekend, you'll probably find me exploring the back-country of Arizona in 4-wheel drive SUV, searching for deer, elk, birds, a special sunset, fall colors, fresh air and peace. I don't always get the shot. Soon I'll post a video about my attempt to photograph a wolf in Colorado - "the one that got away".
I do
minimal editing on my photographs, only adjusting them for lighting and
sharpness. I prefer to compose in the camera. I don’t add
details that weren’t there when I captured the image.
I am
developing a portfolio of high-resolution panoramas. For example, my Camelback Mountain panorama is a mosaic of 6
high-resolution images combined to make a stunning 124 megapixel image. You
can order one on this site, and if you have a larger space to fill, say a hotel
lobby or office building, my panoramas can be special ordered in sizes 10’ wide
or more!
